1000 - Engine Repair - Top of Page

Hello, I want to give you a testimony of my experience with Bar's Leaks Engine Repair 2 Part Formula. Six months ago I was having a problem with my 1993 Saturn SL2. It was smoking out of the exhaust. I went to an auto parts store to look for an additive to help reduce the smoke. I decided to try Bar's Leaks Engine Repair 2 Part Formula. It helped. Then, I had a major breakdown of the car's running ability. The catalytic converter had to be replaced, and the mechanic replaced various other components of the emission control system. The car's yearly tag renewal was coming due, which requires the passing of an emissions test, so I took the car to have it tested. When I got to the front of the line, at the point just before entering the test area, and as my car was idling, it began smoking out of the exhaust. I knew then that I was likely in trouble. The car failed so far out of the acceptable standards that it wasn't even close enough to get a one year waiver (which can be obtained if the emissions are within double the standards). The mechanic had changed the car's oil, and Bar's Leaks had not been added. Knowing that Bar's Leaks had reduced the smoking before, I decided to go to a parts store, purchase a bottle, and add it. I also added a bottle of Heet to the gas. The next day, after driving maybe ten miles to the testing station and maybe a few miles around where I live, I had the car tested again. This time it failed, but within range of qualifying for a waiver. I got all my paper work together and went to the place where a waiver is obtained. They tested it again, and it passed! I think that the increased miles driven since adding the Bar's Leaks allowed the additive more opportunity to do its work. In the six months since then, up until I recently changed the oil again, the smoke hasn't returned. That's with one treatment. I've decided to use a bottle of it every time I change the car's oil.

Just a note to say that you’re Smoke Away worked for me and saved me lots of money. I failed NJ inspection for visible smoke. I have no oil leaks and I don’t use a lot of oil in my engine. I decided to try a bottle of your product and went back for the re-inspection 2 weeks later and I passed with NO problems. You save me a lot of money by not having to go to an auto repair shop. The best $4 investment I ever made. Thanks

1050 - Rear Main Seal Repair - Top of Page

I am now a big fan of your Rear Main Seal Repair. I have a 69 Firebird 400 conv. that I have practically owned since new. It is mostly all original with original drive train, interior and top. It has 105K miles and when I have taken it out of the garage it has left a trail of oil down the driveway. After using your product I was amazed that the leak stopped. I have used other products but nothing helped. I would be glad to endorse your product and if you are interested I can send you pictures of the car. Thanks for a great product.

I have a 1966 Bronco that had a steady rear main leak. I changed the oil pan gasket in hopes this was the problem. I was going to change the rear main seal but it was a one piece type. This means the transmission has to come out to replace the rear main. I was very discouraged after performing this very large job only to find out I had the same problem. A buddy of mine recommended your product and I was a little hesitant of a product like this. To my surprise it worked after driving the vehicle for two day i had no leaks. I was so relieved that I wanted to take the time and thank you for such a great product. This saved me so much time and aggravation as I am a do it yourselfer.

J. E. - Burlington NC

I am an armature car collector and restorer (easy on the restoration). Recently I purchased a 1966 Ford Thunderbird, from the original owner. I drove it from Muncie IN. to New Mexico. After arriving home I started experiencing some problems with the car. Old cars have problems. The rear main seal was leaking. Before paying to have it replaced I used your Rear Main Seal restoration fluid. It worked perfectly! Then, I started getting water in the exhaust. Again, before paying for expensive repairs, I used your head gasket sealer. To my surprise it to worked perfectly! Your products have saved me hundreds of dollars in repairs. Just wanted to say thank you, and I will be recommending your products every chance I get.

Hi my name is Paul I have a 1983 chaparal boat with a 120 hp io merc cruiser stern drive unit for power. Two weeks ago I noticed bad oil leak coming from the back of the motor. From where the leak was it looked like the oil pan was leaking, so my son and I went and put on a new oil pan gasket, the leak was still there. Not wanting to lose the whole boating season my father said I may want to try your Rear Main sealer. At this time I did not have $1800.00 dollars to repair it, so I tried your sealer. I ran the boat in my yard for about one half hour. I was disappointed as the leak was still there. I was losing a half a quart of oil in this short amount of time, after calling around again for repair prices I decided to try one more time. Being tired and mad I put the rpms from idle to 3000 and went into the house. after about forty minutes I went back out and I was shocked, I saw only a small amount in the drip pan. I could not believe what I saw! After checking the oil and measuring what was lost, I only lost a half of a cup of oil. I am very happy that repair in a bottle does work, Thank you for this product. I know that this is not a permanent fix but it looks like I will be able to use my boat for the rest of the summer season. I am hoping that my local parts store gets more in soon so I can have some on stand by. My son Ryan is a car repair tech and I told him to tell every one that this Rear Main sealer really works. Please do not stop making this product!

P. W. J. – Wrightstown, NJ

I was pleasantly shocked when I used Bar's Leak Rear Main Seal. I had a pretty bad oil leak and was getting tired of my engine smoking from the oil dripping every where. Bar's Leak Rear Main Seal stopped it or good. I highly recommend it!!!

K.R.G. - Beaverton, OR

I own a 1987 Ford T-Bird with a lot of miles on it. First bought for my wife to drive, then I drove it for years. It was then passed down to my son. Then my daughter drove it for years. My grandson learned to drive in it. Needless to say, it has a lot of hard miles on it. When no one wanted it anymore, we parked it for a year. I recently decided to put it back on the road. First day I drove it, the rear main seal leaked out four quarts of oil. Brought it home, and parked it again. The next day, I watched "Two Guys Garage", as I do every Sunday. They were advertising sponsor products, and Bar's Leaks Rear Main Seal Repair was one of the featured products. As soon as the show went off, I drove to the nearest auto parts store and bought the product. Put it in right there in the parking lot. I have driven the car for over a week, with no major leakage. I have been an auto and heavy equipment mechanic all my life. I have always repaired problems of this nature, rather than use "mystery oils". However, this product saved me hundreds of dollars to repair a car over twenty years old, with numerous miles on it. Tell Sam and Mr. Fuller thanks for endorsing your product on their show, and thank you for being their sponsor. I have already recommended your products to others.

REAR MAIN SEAL REPAIR for President! My experience with car repairs is just about NIL. Anyway in October 2008, I got the oil changed in my wife’s 1995 Toyota Camry. In late November while gassing up the car, I checked the oil and found the oil level more than an inch above the full mark. My limited knowledge told me this was no good. I thought the engine would throw it out somehow... I had the oil changed in early December and put some Engine Oil Stop Leak, NO LUCK. The car was now leaking to say the least. As my wife would pull into the drive way a 20 foot stream of oil drips about 5-6 inches part were clearly visible, oil leaks the size of footballs and basketballs on the driveway and street. A major oil company called and wanted drilling rights for the oil in the driveway.

I called a local repair garage and was told the rear main seal was Leaking the engine oil. The stop leak product I used in December with the oil change was a Bar's Leaks product, SO I called Bar's Leaks and was told to get product 1050; Rear Main Seal Repair, it set me back about $10, but thought its a lot better than $1000. This was the COLD weekend we had in JANUARY and the oil level was down more than a quart. On Thursday morning I put in the Rear Main Seal Repair, it is like a like a stop leak, thick and pours slow like molasses and it was COLD outside. I was ready to scrap everything but finally got all the oil in. For product to work requires car to be driven 100 miles, at about 90 miles,,,, guess what NO LEAKS! Drove it for 125 miles,,,, NO LEAKS! I can’t believe this and I want to thank Bar's Leaks for the fine products and especially the two gentlemen for their time and advise and SAVING ME A COUPLE BUCKS.

B. J. K - Gaithersburg, MD

1050 rear main seal leak repair works! I'm not a stop leak using kind of guy usually. I had a leaky rear main seal on my 95 F-150 5.8L 200,000 miles. I was about to pull the tranny and t-case to put in a new rear main seal but thought, what the heck, I'll try some Bar\'s Leak. I put it in with my last oil change and it has actually worked.

T. G. - Eureka, KS

I just tried Bar's Leaks "Rear Main Seal Repair" to treat a fairly major oil leak in my wife's 98 Chevy Venture with 140,000 miles. It was a little pricey but the claims on the bottle were impressive so I gave it a try. I expected the leak to persist for a few hundred miles and to slow down but not stop which is typical with the usual stop-leak products. Happily, the leak seemed to stop almost immediately and our garage is still dry two weeks later. I have no idea what the long term outlook is for this leak, but I plan to use a bottle of your stuff every oil change and hopefully, the leak is history. Thanks Bars Leaks.

J. H., Pittsburg, PA

I had to write and tell you that your Rear Main Seal Repair stopped all the oil leaks in my 1989 Ford Country Squire and saved me thousands of dollars. I loved the old car even though it had only 140,000 miles but the oil drips on my garage floor and driveway were unsightly so I was considering a new or rebuilt motor that would cost about $3000, or just junking it and buying a new one. Fortunately last fall I saw your product at a local auto supply store and thought I would try it even over my better judgment. Things like this had never worked for me in the past.

Now it is time for another oil change. The oil is about a quart low and there are no drips or leaks. So you can bet a quart of your Rear Main Seal Repair will be added to the oil. Many thanks for selling a product that does just what you say it is supposed to do and saving me thousands of dollars.

M.W. Bowie, MD

Just wanted to drop you a note on how satisfied I am with your new Rear Main oil seal product, it does work very well. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.7L V-8 and 94K of miles. I change my own oil and noticed oil residue and small amount at bottom of transmission. Having been satisfied with some of your other products, I tried this new oil additive product and checked within 300 miles, the bottom of the transmission was clean & dry with no signs of oil residue. I checked transmission bottom every Saturday after driving 350 miles to/from work each week for the next 3K and it was dry and clean. Your product worked and I will use it every 6K to help keep the main oil seal working as it should. Many thanks for a great product.

J.D., Columbia, MD

Just a note to tell you how pleased I am with your new Rear Main Seal product. After adding your product to my oil, with in 110 miles of driving, my oil leak was repaired. Much like magic!! I have used other Bar's Leak products with great success. But to have your new product correct a bad rear main seal leak, saving me a very expensive repair, was truly amazing! You have a customer for life. I will add a quart of your new Rear Main Seal product with every future oil change; provided I can find it. Your product has not yet reached Dallas, Texas. My NAPA store is trying to get it. Thank you!

1100 - Head Gasket Repair - Top of Page

I’ve read several of your testimonials for your Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Repair and would like to add mine. Our kids in Vernal were having a problem with their 1999 suburban overheating. They stopped driving it when they noticed that the oil color had changed. So on a recent visit, I checked it out. The oil was three inches high on the dipstick and looked like crème cappuccino. The 350 V-8 at idle sounded like a washing machine. The kids had been adding water to maintain the radiator fluid level and didn’t realize they were filling up the crankcase with water! I’ve always had good luck with your products when it came to radiator leaks. With a new baby arriving that day, the kids were in no position for a $1500 head gasket replacement. So we looked up your products online and then took a trip to the store for Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Repair. I followed all the steps carefully, flushing the coolant system under idle, using a coolant system cleaner, removing all antifreeze and then adding Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Repair and running as instructed. When I drained the crankcase, more than two gallons of fluid came out! It took two oil filters and three oil changes to get the oil to run clear. I let Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Repair set up overnight in an empty system, and then added all fluids to specifications the next morning. Since then the Suburban has been running smoothly for several hundred miles in hot weather, and both the oil and coolant systems have maintained their proper levels and composition. I just got a call from another son-in-law who has a blown head gasket. Guess what I’m recommending!

F. R. H. - Coquille, OR

I purchased an older vehicle and right after I bought it I blew the head gasket. The mechanic quoted me over 1500 to repair it. That was almost as much as I paid for the vehicle. I was browsing online and noticed the Bars Leak head gasket repair. I purchased it for around $15.00 and utilized it. That was over 8 months ago and I have yet to overheat. I was concerned with the summer and running the air conditioner. This product was a god send. Not only did it work but saved me a fortune on vehicle repairs. Thanks for making this product.

J. K. - Russell, KS

I have been a used car broker for 39 years and have bought and sold thousands of vehicles, many of which were in need of repair. Last month I bought a 2002 Buick Regal with a 3.8 L V-6 from the local auto auctions. It overheated on the way home and I had it towed to my mechanic. Th next day I got the bad news - Blown Head Gasket, $1200.00 fix! Well, I had to go to Autozone for something and saw your headgasket sealer display. I said what do I have to lose and picked your Head Gasket Repair product. I took the bottle home and followed the instructions exactly all along expecting no good results. To make a long story short, the car ran perfectly within 3 hours. I put it in the newspaper the next day and believe it or not sold it to another auto broker for a good profit! You made a believer out of me with that product and saved me $1200+. Thank you and I'll always tell my many dealer friends about your product.

J. H. - Scottsdale, AZ

Just a note to let you konw your stop leak worked perfectly. I drained the cooling system until it ran clear water the the 17 step process began. The head gasket leak on the '93 Transport was completely closed and saved on a $600.00 repair bill.

J. P. - Homewood, IL

Just wanted to thank the makers of "Barsleaks" I had very good results when using this product for a heatercore leak on my 91 Saab/900s. Fixed the antifreeze steaming on my defrost. The product really saved me $2,600, headgasket repair on my wife's 95 Volvo 850 turbo. Coolant was entering the oil due to a failing head gasket. Barsleaks is allowing me time before I decide to replace the head gasket and do a complete valve job. I own 4 Saab\'s and two Volvo's that all have "Barsleaks" added just as a preventive maintenance. So far I haven't had to replace any radiators or heatercores in all my cars. Might I also add that these car all have over 180000 miles on them. From what I've reshearched, these cars have a high rate of heatercore and radiator replacement rates.

P. C. - Unknown

I developed a small head gasket leak in my " Maui cruiser",an 89 Celebrity wagon. Used your Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair & Sealer and within 20 miles of running at normal speed, problem solved. Thank you!

W. W. - Kihei, HI

Gentlemen: I added Bars Gasket fix to the cooling system on my 2000 Chevy Venture at 162,000 miles. (The engine of which is notorious for having bad head gaskets) I was told by my mechanic and by the dealer that the engine needed to be replaced at a cost of between $3,000 to $5,000 dollars. I took a chance after installation and drove to North Carolina, a 1,200 mile trip and came home with absolutely no problems. I now have over 1,700 miles since I used Bars Gasket Fix. This is on a car that I was ready to get rid of. Thank you for a great product.

J. J. R. - East Islip, New York

I rarely take the time to write a manufacturer about a product, but I couldn't let this pass. On 2/12, my car caught fire and was destroyed (fuel line cracked). Less than one week later, our second car blew its head gasket. I was devastated. How to replace two cars in one month? I don't have that kind of money. While researching head gaskets online, I found information about your product. I read every blog I could find and decided I had nothing to lose. My mechanic advised against it. Although he agreed that my car, a '92 Ford, was not worth the repair job of $1400, he told me that your product might destroy my engine. From my perspective, it was already destroyed, so I decided to give Bars Leak a shot. I flushed the radiator and added Bars Leak Head Gasket Fix to the clean coolant. I'm now on week four, no smoke, no problems. The car is running as well as it ever did. Only problem is that if I idle too long (bank drive through lines...argh!), it will start to run too hot. I just need the car to last the next few months until I can afford to buy a second used car. My husband and mechanic thought I was nuts, but I can't say enough about your product. It did everything you advertise. The most difficult thing about it was finding it in stock in my local auto parts stores. I had to call around to many before I found it. Thank you!

P. B. - Woodbury, NJ

I used PN 1100 Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Repair on my 1995 Ford Contour- 4CYL 2.0 Liter, My friend overheated the aluminum engine just a little, and it developed a very small coolant leak I did not have the funds to have the car properly repaired at the time so I decided to use bars leaks, It was somewhat of a pain to use however, It has been over a year and almost 6,000 miles and it still has not leaked since using the product. My car now has 101,000 miles on it and it’s still running strong! I would definitely use your products again if I could not get the car properly repaired.

R. P. - Hickory, NC

I used your Head Gasket Repair and wanted to let you know the results. Last night I drove back down to Souther California. 6 1/2 hours of driving at 65 mph about the whole way, over a couple of small passes...and the car had no problems. It didn't run any hotter that what would be considered normal, even going over the passes, so no overheating. I had no smell at all in the car of coolant, and was running the heater, so I'll assume that any leaks that may have been in the heater core were sealed. At the end, I didn't have any smell of coolant in the engine compartment, and when I checked after the engine had cool, there was no loss of coolant during the drive. The car had normal power and got 27.5 mpg on the trip. This is as opposed to the trip up to Northern California last week, where the car overheated going over the Grapevine, lost 7 quarts of coolant, had the engine light flashing and the engine misfiring the entire trip, and then having it fail a block test, and being told I had a blown head gasket. After using your Head Gasket Fix product, all of that appears to have been fixed (I did have to replace spark plugs and wires that had pretty much melted in the original overheating) and on the return trip, the car ran as if there had never been any problems. So you have my thanks. You saved me probably $1200.

M. F. - CA

I used your Head Gasket Repair. It saved my life. LOL Well, you kept my 97 Dodge Caravan on the road. I had 2 cracks in the block. The product worked wonders and saved my engine, my staying on the road, and my time with my boys. Only time I get with them is taking them to school and back. Thank You!!!!!

D. R. - Gilbert, AZ

Regarding Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair, My 96 Windstar head gasket was leaking in November of 2008, it was also dripping coolant out of the exhaust, it was bad enough where the van would idle rough and also stall on occasion, so here I was in the middle of winter with a major problem, just so happens I was watching Truck Universe on Speed channel and they mentioned your product, so what the hell 10 bucks verses 700 bucks so I gave it a try, followed the directions all the way thru, and well to make a long story short, here we are in Feb of 2009, Windstar is running great, no rough idle no coolant loss 4 months 7,000 miles later, and not to mention sub zero temps. Just wanted to thank Bar's Leaks staff for engineering an excellent product.

G. G. - Ypsilanti, MI

The 1100 solved the problem completely. No fumes at all coming out of the exhausts and no smell of burning antifreeze. Just had the car checked by a mechanic who declared the head gasket to be intact. It all started at 230,000 miles, burning water (cloud of fume and smell of burning antifreeze). Flushed the radiator with supper-flush, cleaned with water, let it dry and used the 1100. Problem solved. You have one very happy customer (with $1000.00 saving).

I.I. Carolina Beach, NC

I just wanted to let you know that (after watching "Two Guys Garage" on The Speed Channel) I purchased a bottle of your Bars Leak head Gasket Repair. You have proved me wrong! I said there was no way it would work. I've since put almost 1,000 miles on my 1983 Chrysler LeBaron convertible with no problems. Thank you very much,

J. D., Pittsville, MD

I just purchased you Head Gasket Repair liquid.... and it was my last attempt at repairing the truck I had just bought cheaply... I say Last attempt because it WORKED!!!!! It has completely sealed, not only my head gasket and block, but also the gaping hole in my radiator, as well as unstuck the thermostat! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!! Because of this fix, I can now do what I have been trying to do for 3 months..... go into the Air force to serve our country!

R. D.

I know this is probably something most people would not do, but I believe in giving credit where credit is deserved. My girlfriend and I won one car, a 1995 Ford Contour, with a 2.0 - 4 cylinder engine. About 2 months ago it overheated and I believe the head gasket blew, or the head cracked and the car messed up. I have since lost my job due to the fact I couldn't get to work. We live in a small Kentucky town in the mountains, I have no income now and we had to move in with my girlfriend’s mother. In the time that's past since the car went down I've talked to a lot of people about the problem and most of them told me it would cost anywhere from $500.00 to $1000.00 to have the car fixed. Without a job I could not afford that at all!

About a week ago I talked to a couple of people about different products that work, like your Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair and Block Seal and everyone I spoke with were so negative saying it would not work, but I scrapped up a $10.00 bill and went to an auto parts shop and I looked at the different products that they had for fixing my car's problem. I decided to use your product, I guess because of the way your product advertised itself to me.

Well it worked! Our car is actually running better now than it ever did and I just wanted to thank you for being there and for having a product that really works. It only cost us under "Ten Dollars" compared to the $1000.00 to have a repair shop fix it. Thank you very much for making a product that really works! If I am ever in need in the future I won't hesitate to use or recommend your fine products.

R. E. Williamsburg, KY

One major problem with driving a 17 year old vehicle is that when a serious mechanical failure occurs, the dollar cost of repairs is no cheaper than a 2 year old car. My 1990 Mitsubishi Monter 3L V6 recently blew a head gasket. It had been coming on for over a year. I had been adding your older formula, the one with the pellets, and it helped for that long. Finally the decision had to be made: repair or junk.

I happened across your Head Gasket Repair, and for the price I thought what the heck, why not? Although I have never seen a mechanic in a can work before, what did I have to lose? I purchased the product, took it home and used exactly according to your label directions. I have since travelled over 7,000 miles and added NO water or coolant. No more white smoke when cold, no more dead cylinder while cold. I don't know how long it will last, but I have enjoyed freedom from worry for that problem for over 5 months. Hopefully I won't worry about it ever again.

P.B. Gulf Breeze, FL

We were told that your product was great and that it would work to fix just about anything…well we were a little skeptical about it. We had a major leak coming from somewhere and we had no idea where. So we tried your Bar's Leaks Head Gasket repair. We waited to see what would happen because we seriously didn’t think anything would hold that major of a leak. But to our amazement, the next day the leak was gone. We have been driving it now for about 2 days and there is still no leak. Your product is great. Thank you for making my car all better. This was the first SUV I have ever had and was worried I would never get to drive it, but because of your product, my SUV is running strong. Thanks again for a great product.

L.C.

Ok, I’m writing to thank you, after using the Bar's Head Gasket Repair product, in a 98 Subaru Forester 2.5L engine that had a bad head gasket leak. I was quoted $1500 to fix the problem by a local Subaru mechanic. The Bar's product worked and 500 miles later, the darn little Subaru is running as cool as ever. I was a skeptic, now I am eating "crow" and loving every minute of it... thanks for developing a great product that really works...

R.G., Toccoa

I Thought I would let you know what a great product you have! I manage a small glass shop, we have four work trucks. Usually around 100,000 miles or so the intake gasket starts to leak. This time we used Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair. It is working great. It is much more feasible to repair it that way verses having the truck down for a couple days and putting $300-$400 into it.

C. E. - Rapid City, SD

Hi, this is not a question but I wanted to say thank you for your Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair product. I have a 96 Olds Bravada. I bought this car a year ago for 4000.00. Within the last 2 months I have spent 2000.00 on ball joints and idler arm, replacing a leaking gas tank, alternator and battery. It’s become a financial nightmare. This week after problems with my cooling system I discovered a blown head or intake gasket. After all the money I've spent already this was one of the most depressing situations I had to face. Upon starting the car antifreeze would pour out all over and the car would begin to overheat. Knowing the cost of this type of repair work and the fact financially I could not afford it, I went to our local auto parts store and read all of products on the shelf I bought yours. I came home followed the directions and within an hour It stopped completely. Thank you for your product I will praise your products to all my friends. Maybe you guys should get into the car building business I will be your first customer. Thank you once again you guys are GREAT.

B. M. - Rochester, NY

I used the Head Gasket Repair and it worked!!!!! Good luck with your work, thank you.

G. S.

I have a 1992 Ford Explorer with a 4.0L V6 engine. During this recent hot summer, I started to experience combustion pressures in my coolant system. I have talked to a few auto repair shops that said 4.0L Ford V motors are prone to this type of head gasket failure. This caused the coolant system to become over pressurized and would cause steam to blow out the thermostat gasket. Upon closer inspection, the coolant was foaming and bubbly. I was not planning on keep the vehicle very long but this issue made the vehicle not usable and to have the vehicle repaired by replacing the head gaskets would have cost more than the vehicles worth.

Bar’s Leaks recommended I try Bar’s leaks Head Gasket Repair. I had a local auto repair facility perform the installation of this product because of the multiple flushing and fillings of the coolant system but at the total labor cost of $102, it was far cheaper than having the head gasket replaced.

I now have a little over 2000 miles on my vehicle. It does not consume any coolant. It does not blow out steam from the thermostat gasket. It has made the car completely reliable in the hot weather and stop and go city traffic. Thank you Bar’s Leaks for saving my vehicle from the junk yard!

As a diesel engineer and petro-chemical engineer, having worked on many makes of cars, I decided to buy the Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Repair for my 27 year old 280E that sprung a head leak.

Now I am not really the type that would not do the whole head repair myself, but as a mechanical engineer and car buff, I have come to the conclusion that my kids get fed up of the sight of my dirty hands.

So beyond believe I did it, after years of believing that these products NEVER work and it is all just marketing of a product. Well I was proven wrong, after all these years, having worked on all my restored cars from Astons, Lotus, Rolls-Royce and Bentleys and my 400I Ferrari. I went down to NAPA with my beloved 280E which is my daughters’ car, in search of the quick fix.

Well I was astounded. Your products certainly are reaching the claims that they make because after following the instructions I have no leak! So I called another long time mechanic that had a leak on the left bank of his 1980 Ferrari 400I and told him my experience. He did the same and BINGO……NO LEAK.

I have forwarded your site to all my car club buddies, including my dad, who thought I was just lazy not do the head set change. Well from now on, I am going to be lazy because your products WORK! Thanks

Often times in our business it is a difficult task to try to balance the need of the customer and the price of a repair. On the other hand, the customer needs to have something fixed on their vehicle in order to use it. Also, repairs on today’s vehicles can be so costly that the customer can be hard pressed to come up with the money for the repair.

They had previously had a head gasket repair on their 99 Ford Explorer. The repair ran upwards of $1,500.00 unfortunately, the head gasket had started to leak again. The customers were faced with the dilemma of taking a loss on getting rid of the vehicle, they owed considerably more than it was worth, or spending another $1,500.00 to fix the head gaskets.

Neither of these were an option. Always skeptical of the “mechanic-in-a-bottle” type of quick fixes, we decided to give the Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Repair a try. We were shocked by the results. It actually stopped the head gasket from leaking! Thanks to Bar’s Leak Head Gasket Repair, we were able to help a customer that would have otherwise not been able to afford the repair on their vehicle.

In addition, we were still able to make a sale. While not much as the repair itself, we were faced with the customer having nothing done to their vehicle and a loss sale. Bar’s Leak was a great alternative! We would highly recommend this product to any garage in need of an inexpensive alternative that works! Respectfully

I wish to express my happiness over your apparent success with your product Head Gasket Repair. I have a Supra/Toyota 86 that had a head gasket leak when I bought it. I have taken the head off 4 or 5 times replacing gasket, shaving head, and checking for cracks but found none, but each time I return it and tried to run the car, 20 minutes later it ran hot.

A few days ago I stopped by for oil and noticed the Head Gasket Repair and being only $9 said what the heck, one more try before I replace the head. IT WORKED! Sirs, I am impressed. Thanks

1109 - Liquid Copper Sealer - Top of Page

Bar’s Leaks – I’ve got to tell you that your Bar’s Leaks Block Sealer must be some kind of miracle in a can. Instead of the $800 bill the mechanic said it would cost me just to find out why engine coolant was getting into the engine oil, not counting the parts yet, I spent $10 on your product. It immediately fixed the coolant leak, which was bad. Then I get a $5.00 rebate on top of that, which I felt guilty about even taking. I never had any faith in quick fix cures for machinery, but I do now in your product. Thanks so much!

C. D. – Skandia, MI

My 1999 Ford Ranger started losing coolant about a week ago, so I replaced the thermostat. That didn’t work so I took it to a shop that told me I had a cracked block or blown head gasket and it would be $800 to $2000 to fix it. Since I have 140,000 miles I knew that didn't make sense. I called my brother who is much more of a mechanic than me and he suggested Bar's Liquid Copper Block & Radiator Sealer. I put it in a couple of days ago and it has amazed me how well it has worked. The truck quit losing coolant, runs 100% better and I think I may get another 10,000 miles out of it at least. I have never written a product testimonial before, but then again I have never had a ten dollar product work that well to save me hundreds or thousands of dollars. Thanks!

C. G. – Austin, TX

1109 - Liquid Copper Sealer I waited as the initial result was so great I did not want to jinx it. My 2000 GMC Jimmy started to leak coolant. At first from the location I thought it was the water pump, but then realized it was likely the intake gasket. I was losing about a pint in the overflow tank with a steady steam. Repair would be about $800, so I thought I would give Bar's a shot. Found the right product, added it as directed, and the drip stopped. Five weeks and 1000 miles later, system has remained at the same level, no leakage. What a great result. Thanks Bar's!

I recently used your product 1109 block seal on my daughter’s 1994 Volvo 940 wagon. The car had a head gasket leaking at front of head left side when looking under hood. I had noticed anti-freeze level dropping very slowly and a film of oil in overflow tank but didn’t give it much attention until my daughter said her car wasn't running right. I found her radiator tranny cooler let go and contaminated and ruined her tranny. After we purchased a used tranny and had it installed, I noticed the head gasket problem. "WOW" Now I am beside myself. 150,000 miles on the car and 1000.00 tranny repair. I purchased your 1109 block sealer and it worked!!!!! She currently attends college 3.5 hours from home and reports are still positive. Thank you for making a product that works.

I have a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo with those leaky intake gaskets, rather than spend a lot, I used 1 bottle on 1109 and that water leak into the intake stopped so fast I couldn't believe it. I've been putting up with that slight leak and over-heating for about a year but no more. Thanks.

Recently my Ford Windstar was diagnosed with either a blown head gasket or a crack in the cylinder head. Faced with the prospect of an expensive repair, I was relieved when my radiator man, a very honest person whom I have been doing business with for over twenty years, informed me of a new Bar’s Leaks product that might be my savior.

He installed a can of your liquid copper product, which he referred to as liquid glass, and my coolant loss problems have disappeared. I am here to tell you thanks for making such a wonderful product and for saving me thousands of dollars in repairs. I tell all of my friends about my predicament and how your product has helped me. Thank you again

1111 - Head Gasket Fix - Top of Page

I wrote you couple of months ago about my engine having coolant leaks thru the manifold or the head gasket and I asked you for advice on your product that stops head gasket leaks. Well let me tell you that since that date that I did the oil change and follow the instructions on how to use it. I am no longer having had any problems with the oil been contaminated. I have lost a little bit of water on the water container but after having done two more oil changes, the oil had come out clean, I thank you very much, you have saved me some money,

E. M. – Miami Springs, FL

Thank you for taking the time to talk to me about the head gasket leak in my 98 Olds Silhouette and for sending the email on how to eliminate any air bubbles in my cooling system.  I installed the Head Gasket Fix into the radiator per instructions into the fresh Dex Cool antifreeze.  The van no longer puffs steam out of the tail pipe, the “low coolant” light does not come on any more and there is no longer a mis-fire on cylinder #1 which had a ruined fuel injector and plugs.  Thanks to your new product, my van now runs great and saved an otherwise fine van and saved me a huge repair bill for new head gaskets.  Thanks for this great product!

L. K. – Pontiac, MI

Bar’s Leaks – I have a 1992 Ford Escort which has almost 200,000 miles on it.  In September 2009, antifreeze started leaking down the front side of the engine and was pooling on the driveway.  I didn’t want stray cats and other animals drinking it so I too the car to a reputable garage.  They check it out and said the head gasket was cracked and the repair work was very expensive, about $700.  I tried ½ can of the Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix and within 10 days, noticed the problem was solved and NO side affects to car.  I am very satisfied!

H. S. – Waukegan, IL

After 170,000 miles, my 1997 Cadillac with a four point North Star engine started to overheat.  My local dealership confirmed my fears that it had a blown head gasket and could be repaired for $4000, hard to justify for a $3000 car.  After trying about all the additives I was ready to give up, then I found Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix.  I thought the price was pretty high but I didn’t have much to loose.  My biggest problem was that the cooling system was building pressure and was expelling the coolant out of the system, since this system does not have a recovery tank but has an expansion tank.  To keep the coolant and additive in the system, I removed the overflow hose and replace it with about four feet of 3/8 hose and put a gallon jug in the only place that would hold it in front of the radiator and wired it in.  When the system pressurized and pushed out about a gallon of coolant, I let it cool and poured it back into the system.  It took almost a month but it finally sealed and my problems are solved.  Thanks to Bar’s Leaks and I hope this helps others with the same problem.

H. – Cheyenne, WY

Just wanted to put in my testimonial after reading countless others on your newer Head Gasket Fix (the one you can pour right into the cooling system). I own a 1989 VW Jetta GL with a 1.8L 8v I4, and after having to put AT LEAST a third of a bottle of coolant in EVERY day, it was diagnosed as having either a head gasket leak or a head gasket that was completely bad. 20 ppm of hydrocarbons in the vapor from your coolant tank and you have a bad head gasket, mine read 191! After putting your product in, I haven\'t had to top off my coolant one single time! When I swap this motor out for a 2.0L 16v with a bad rear main seal that I\'ve recently purchased, the first thing I do will be to put in a bottle of your Main Seal Fix!

Z. B. - Centereach, NY

After a recent weekend drive home from Savannah, GA, I noticed my truck running a little hot, by the time I could exit it had overheated but I was able to get water and make it home. I flushed the system and added antifreeze only to see a huge amount of white smoke coming from my exhaust. I was skeptical about using a gasket block product, but decided to purchase Bar's Leaks Gasket FIX. I was attracted to this one in particular because of it's compatibility with antifreeze, and the fact that it can stay in my cooling system for continued protection. My truck is running great, and although I will still make a gasket repair, it is nice to know that it can happen on my time table. Thanks for a great product made in the USA.

Dear Sirs, I just want to thank you for making such a great product like bar's head gasket fix # 1111. It helped me fixed my blown head gasket on my 1991 Honda Accord. My car is no more using a lot of water, the engine is no more skipping and the old car is running great now Thanks to Bar's Leaks # 1111. Thank so much for making a Great American Product. May God bless you for saving me a lot of money.

L. T. - Lawrenceville, GA

I was having an antifreeze leak on my 1997 Honda Civic with 158K miles on it, and it was determined that the problem was the head gasket. My repair shop said that if they replaced the head gasket, the engine would burn oil, so they wanted to replace the engine for $3000. I put Bar’s Head Gasket Fix in the radiator, and the car has not leaked any antifreeze in more than 5,000 miles. I'm very pleased, to say the least!

K. L. - Stone Mountain, GA

Please be advised that as I stated if your product (Bars Head Gasket Fix PN 1111) worked to stop the compression leak and high cooling system pressurization and subsequent coolant loss I was experiencing with my 2003 Ford F-150 that I would be a #1 customer for your products if needed. Well after approximately 500 miles of reasonable driving I have not had to add any coolant to my f-150's cooling system. I serviced my vehicle as directed per your company's head gasket fix instructions and till now have a well performing f-150 engine. Any one who has a question I'll be happy to relate my experience with this product personally.

W. E. - Dalhart, TX

My vehicle is a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with the 3.8L engine. At 230,100 miles, I developed an external upper intake manifold gasket leak. Within 3 weeks of the gasket problem, I was adding 1/2 gallon of antifreeze daily to keep the engine temperature below 210F. I researched my options, and took note that the average repair cost for this type of problem was $400, and I decided to try Bar's Leaks Gasket Fix before investing big money on a 10 year old, high mileage vehicle. I have to admit I was skeptical that I could fix a leak of this magnitude without replacing the manifold gasket, but I wanted to try a less expensive option. I purchased Bar's Leaks Gasket Fix and followed the directions on the label. The night before I added the product to my radiator, I lost at least 1/2 gallon of antifreeze, but after using the product and driving 92 miles round trip to work, I lost NO antifreeze, and the engine temperature remained steady between 185 and 205. One week, and 400 miles later, I have no external leak on the manifold, and my gas mileage has increased, most likely by plugging any vacuum leaks that were present prior to using the product. This stuff works, and even if I have to buy another can within the next 12 months, I am still $340 ahead of the lowest estimated cost of replacing the manifold gaskets.

T. G. - Bethany, WV

Wanted to update you. I am at 2200 miles and going strong. No sign of a leak. I am very pleased to say the least. Is the head gasket more likely to leak once the cold weather hits? If it should leak again, can I put another bottle in? I have recommeded your product to at least 6 or 7 people who have claimed they are going to try it.

R. A. - Lima OH

I am writing to tell you of my good experience with Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix. I am pretty skeptical when it comes to additives but I have an 1988 Isuzu Trooper II and over a year ago the head gasket started leaking water into cylinder #3, drip, sizzle, drip, sizzle, and blew out water when the spark plug was removed. I was quoted a figure of $800 to fix it. It has 157,000 miles on it so I went to the auto parts store and looked at all the fix it products and chose yours based on the fact that it is a one step process. Well I was ready to sell this SUV to a junkyard until I put this stuff in it and it worked! To my amazement it is still running fine, I have done some serious 4 wheeling in these Virginia Mountains with no leaking or overheating. I am not in the habit of endorsing products but this stuff really works! I recently bought an ’88 Chevy Celebrity with 57,000 miles for $500.00 because of a small head gasket leak. I again used your product and have put over 5,000 more miles on the car with no problems. I am a very satisfied customer and highly recommend this product. Both of these vehicles would have been junked but they are still running fine, thank you for keeping me on the road!

V. H. – Elliston, VA

I tried your Head Gasket Fix product in my 99 Cadillac (Northstar) 3 days ago. So far it is working like a charm. This product may have saved me $2000. Thanks!

E. T. - Chesterfield Co, VA

Thank you for your Bar's Leaks, Head Gasket Fix product. I purchased the product for my 1999 Cadillac STS. The North star engine was sadly missing at idle and also at slow speed. I had a couple of shops look at it and they wanted $200 to check with the meters but thought it was a head gasket leak. I checked replacement engine prices. A new engine from Cadillac was $12,000. A re-manufactured engine was around $4,000 and I found one small shop that would replace the head gasket for $3,000. I was really upset because I really like the car with only 70,000 miles on it. I purchased Head Gasket Fix based on your website claims. I was familiar with Bar's Leak because me dad used it when I was a kid. My mechanical engineering degree and hands on experience with engines helped to understand the problem and the Bar's Leak product. I poured it in the radiator and followed the directions. The engine still missed when I took the car out the next day. I called Fred at Bar's and he told me it could take a few weeks of average driving. He also told me to leave it in the radiator after the leak is fixed. I noticed that at about 3-4 weeks, the missing went missing. Today, I reset the "check engine" light. The light did not come back on and the car is running perfect with all the power it is supposed to have. Thanks again.

F. L. - Brooklyn Park, MN

I did buy the Bar's PN 1111 Head Gasket Fix. It's been 4 days and so far it's working! No hesitation at start up. For now, the minor leakage of coolant seems to be stopped. In your experience and research, particularly on Northstar engines, how long will this fix last?

G. M. - Unknown

I got over $2000 estimate when I asked a local car service for checking the problem with my car that turned out to be leaking in the head gasket. I was about to donate my car or either sell it at any price. But, found this product (Head Gasket Fix) and gave a try. It really works!!! Now, several weeks has passed with no problem when I drive my car around.

L. W. - Ballwin, MO

My 2004 Sentra wasn\'t worth the $2500-3000 to fix the blown head gasket, so a mechanic recommended I give your product a try. I followed the directions meticulously and it worked perfectly, saving me thousands of dollars. The warning light has been on for weeks and is now off. Thanks for a quality product.

B. M. - Newton, MA

I used your new head gasket sealer 3 weeks ago, Wow it realty works good!

J. Y. - Shirley, NY

Head Gasket Fix - Daughter's car was diagnosed as having a bad head gasket with estimated repair $2999 or new engine for $3999. Her Kia Rio 2001 has 105.000 miles and the car market value isn't worth the repair. Smoke wasn't much yet the engine wasn't running smooth either. One bottle of “Head Gasket Fix” did the job. Too early to tell how long it will last, yet the results are amazing. Thank you guys for such fine product.

M. - Missouri City, TX

My 2000 Chevy Cavalier has 224,875 miles on the odometer and has had a slow leak of antifreeze since we purchased it in 2005, but last year it began to pick up speed. In August we did and complete radiator flush in conjunction with a product that was guaranteed to stop the leak, but by October I was adding antifreeze at least every other week. By the end of the year it was almost every day! In the first week of January, I purchased the Bar's Leak Head Gasket Fix; the mileage at the time was about 220,000 miles. After about 5,000 miles and 3 months, the antifreeze level has stayed constant-no leaks! Couldn't be happier with the product and hope to put at least another 50,000 miles on this car!

D. P. - Dennis, MS

I want take the opportunity to say thanks Bar’s Products for fixing my head gasket 3.4 V-6. Everybody knows the problem with the gasket in those vehicles etc...My experience had milky oil, no heat, and the car ran hot in less than 15 minutes so before taking the car to the shop I saw this product in the auto parts store and said why not try? So I did… honestly in about 20 minutes after I put this product in my cooling system my problem was solved. Everything is normal so I recommend this product to everyone! You have to follow the instructions to see results.

A. R. - Waterford, MI

My 2001 Volvo was running hot and spewing coolant out the tailpipe. I took it to my mechanic and as I had expected he told me I had a bad head gasket. I used your Bars leak head gasket fix and now the car is running perfectly! I was amazed how easy it was to use and how well it worked. Thanks for making such a great product.

D. A. - Unknown

Dear Bar's Leaks, I do not normally take the time to write to manufactures. I am also usually skeptical about product claims. I have on numerous occasions needed to do auto repairs and in some cases had to repair an engine head gasket leak on block crack. This was usually a timely and tedious process and did not always have a positive result. Last week I purchased one of your products (Head Gasket Fix) I must admit I was a little skeptical, this product is unbelievable it worked exactly how your advertisement promised. And I am now not only a true believer, but am a living breathing witness. Thanks for a great product and truth in advertising.

Rev. J. L. H. Jr. - Cottondale, AL

Thank you so very much for the excellent product “Bar's Head Gasket Fix”. We have a 1994 Ford Mustang with 126,000 miles on it. This winter (Minnesota) we started having problems with low heater output then we noticed that we were losing antifreeze and had erratic engine temperature gauge readings. I did some basic testing and found the oil was clean, no coolant in the oil, so then I checked the radiator to see if we had bubbles in the coolant but nothing to really draw any conclusions from. We took the car to an independent mechanic and he did some tests to see if any combustion gases were in the coolant, and he reported that tests were negative and concluded to say that even so, a small leak in the head gasket or head may still exist because of the heater problem and the loss of coolant. The heater problems persisted so we took the car to another established mechanic and he concluded by tests that there was pressure in the coolant system and exhaust gases existed in the coolant. The pressure and gas would go to the heater core and prevent coolant from flowing through the heating system.

From my own experience from a past head gasket replacement on my 2.5 Dodge, a person usually ends up with replacing the head or heads even though the gasket is suspected. In the Mustang case, the basic estimate for head gasket(s) replacement was from $1200 to $1600, but I know you might as well figure in the cost of two rebuilt heads and by the time it’s all over you can figure at least $2400. The Mustangs value is approximately at best $2000 even though it was never driven in the winter and the body is in excellent condition. The standard repair and associated cost would have created a severe hardship on us so I purchased a bottle of “Bars 1100 Head Gasket Fix”. We looked around for used cars before I used the product but either way, I decided I had a “dead horse” on my hands and needed to move forward and do SOMETHING. I read all the reviews and checked out your company, did extensive research on the web to find anything negative about your product, and I could not find one negative comment. I followed the product instructions for installation, and then went for an hour drive, the heater put out heat like a blast furnace, and the temperature gauge was stable. There is no more coolant loss. The problem of engine overheating and no heater output are solved.

The Bars Head Gasket Fix is truly the “Viagra” for the automotive cooling system. I am totally impressed. You have come up with a product that works 100%. A product that someday soon may become the first line of defense for head gasket and other cooling system repairs. When confronted with very expensive repairs a person needs to look at alternatives. Often cooling system leaks are very small in size but can totally disable the operation of the car. A person must be practical about repair options. I went with Bars Head Gasket Fix because of the Bars Company reputation, I have seen similar products but I trust Bars when it comes to adverting, truth of your claims, and value. I do sincerely want to thank you, your research personal, and your manufacturing plant/personal, for such a useful product. I cannot thank you enough.

J. N. - Owatonna MN

I have a 1994 Range Rover County with 149,000 on the clock. My symptoms included no heat, steam from exhaust when cold and warmed up, coolant levels low every day with oil consumption pretty high. I have used the radiator products in the past and was astonished at how effective they were. I purchased the head gasket fix-installed per instructions in the radiator hose and drove car for a hour minimum--amazing-- my heater works now and the smoke is gone--truly a amazing product--and best of all - you to not need to drain existing fluids----worth more than the $29.95 selling price. Awesome R and D department!!!!!

B. M. – Laytonsville, MD

I just purchased a can of your Head gasket Fix - One step. This is not hype, but my actual experience, that I hope will help someone else, since the testimonials were instrumental in my making a decision to use the product. The estimate for a head gasket installation on our Pontiac Montana Van was $1,700. I put a can of this product in my radiator today, and not only is it no longer overheating, the heater is working so well, I have to turn it down. The oil level was way over the fill mark. I had the oil changed today, and the oil level has remained at the normal mark. This is absolutely a wonderful product that lives up to the "too good to be true" claim. I'm a pilot with a major airline, and I can tell you that this is the most remarkable additive I've ever come across! Thanks for saving me a ton of money!!!

J. R. - Shawnee

I can't believe how well your head gasket fix has worked! I have an olds 3.1L engine with a head gasket that is bad, I added your product and with in 10 min and 5 miles it sealed the leak. Thanks for a great product!

W. G. - Townsend, DE

I was skeptical about using your new Head Gasket Fix product for sealing head gaskets. I have a 1999 Cadillac Concourse with the North Star Engine. The engine was blowing steam out of the exhaust, was difficult to start and using oil excessively. I followed the directions on the container exactly and the results were almost immediate. So far it is working great. The car runs like new. Thanks very much!

E. G. - Pittsburg, PA

Hats off to Bars Leaks!!!! I drive a 1998 Ford Expedition w/4.6 v8 w/118,000 miles just recently purchased. With a rough idle I decided to do a tune up starting with the spark plugs, with the overhead cam the plugs were about five inches down inside the motor and the second plug had one inch of antifreeze over it... 'Great' I thought 'a blown head gasket'. I was so upset as I finished the tune up and the truck was running worse. The next morning I went to the auto parts store and found Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Fix for 30.00 dollars and thought, well this has got to work for that kind of money, sure as shoot!! It worked; my truck runs better than ever now. TO THE BAR'S LEAK MAD SCIENCETIST YOU’RE THE BEST - THANKS!!!!!!

W. C. - Fort Wayne, IN

I purchased the Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Fix and it worked great and super. It fixed the engine and stopped the leak completely. Highly recommend it to head gasket replacement - saves money and time. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

A. H. - Hampton,

Hi, I'm highly impressed by your Bars Leaks Head Gasket Fix product. We have a mini van with 140k mileage and it had been diagnosed with a blown head gasket. We are facing tough times financially with a job loss and cancer running through our family. We weren't able to pay $4 thousand dollars for the repair but I did some research and found your product, and, I just want to say, it has prolonged the life of our vehicle. We only do short trips to the grocery store etc. The product has enabled us to still have two working vehicles and it has stretched our gas mileage. It’s been a God-Send as we battle through tough times.

P. C. - Beaverton, Oregon

Head Gasket Fix works! My 1998 BMW 528i had water in the oil and I even needed a second battery to start it. I had nothing to lose. The oil cap even had the tell-tale yellow gunk. It was virtually dead. With over 150k on the car my mechanic told me not to bother trying to fix it. I parked the car until I could get Bar's Head Gasket Fix. After adding it to the radiator I drove it a few miles and changed the oil. Day after day the car ran better and better. After a few days I no longer needed to add water to the radiator and didn't need the extra battery to start it. It's been almost a month now and the car is almost as good as new again! It runs great, no steam, no smoke, no need to add water. I can't believe what it's done for my car. It was dead and now it's tip-top! Amazing, truly amazing. Thank you Bar's for giving me my car back.

G. S. - Simi Valley, CA

I have a 1987 VW Vanagon with 187,000 miles on it. At the very least, I had the typical head gasket leak common to these cars. I tried your product today. For weeks my coolant light had been coming on and I have been finding puddles of coolant under the car on my driveway. Mechanics have told me that the car needed head gasket and/or head replacement. Well, I tried your product and the coolant light stopped flashing and the leak stopped---at least for now, and, hopefully, permanently. I had three choices to make. Do nothing and pay nothing--spend at least $2500 for a head gasket replacement and head machining, etc---or try your product for $30.00. I chose the latter and am VERY pleased with the results!! Wow! Thanks again.

R. K.

My hat is off to your research scientists and engineers. You have been very helpful to me. Head Gasket Fix is a miracle drug! My 1995 3.8L V6 Ford Windstar GL with 135,000 miles started to mysteriously loose coolant from the radiator and overflow reservoir. Additional recent symptoms and past experience led me to believe a failed head gasket or cracked head was imminent. These symptoms included constantly refilling the radiator with no visible leaks, rough idle, coolant entering crankcase and mixing with oil, white smoke emanating from a seam in the engine below the crankcase and from the oil filler cap, and sweet smelling white smoke from the exhaust pipe. In the past, I paid for a head gasket repair and did not want to do it again on this older vehicle. I was prepared to junk the car or donate it to charity when I discovered Head Gasket Fix. After reading more about it, I obtained the product and used it exactly following instructions. Prior to pouring Head Gasket Fix into radiator, I drained enough coolant from the car to make room for the 20 oz. bottle. The radiator was then topped off, and the overflow was filled to the Full Cold line. I also drained the contaminated oil and refilled the crankcase before idling the car to operating temperature. Here's where the miracle happened. During idling at first, white smoke was billowing out of the exhaust and engine; so much so that I almost turned off the key. As minutes passed, the smoke magically diminished from all areas, and then it eventually disappeared. The rough idle smoothed out and all symptoms were gone. I took a 10-minute drive and returned home to let the car cool off. The oil was changed again after a five-minute engine flush, and a new filter was added. During the last week, the coolant level has been checked cold every morning. It took a few days to get all the air bubbles out and maintain a constant level. The Windstar has been driven approximately 225 miles at operating temperature since using Head Gasket Fix. The idle is very smooth and none of the symptoms have re-appeared. One unexpected benefit has been the improved operation of the heater. Thank you very much. I would recommend Head Gasket Fix to anyone with a similar problem. My eyes have been opened to your whole product line.

BMW 735i 3.5 Liter if I could meet the person that invented Head Gasket Fix (the new stuff you add to antifreeze), I would give them a big kiss! Lots of money spent on my car’s cooling system. Come to find out gases were getting into the system and blowing hoses, it was driving me crazy! Replaced all the hoses and then blew the head gasket. I put Head Gasket Fix in and now ALL my problems are GONE. Car runs awesome with no pressure in hoses and all the smoke problems are gone. Really! Problems are gone! THANKS, THANKS! PART NUMBER 1111 IS THE BEST THING INVENTED SINCE ELECTRICITY SO THANKS AGAIN, YOU HAVE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE! AWSOME!

Thanks ever so much for allowing me to participate in real world testing of Bars Head Gasket Fix. I was extremely frustrated after completing a difficult custom tuning on a high performance 383 MPFI Chevy "stroker" project. During the tuning process the motor overheated causing what I believed to be a head gasket failure due to head warp. I invested in excess of $10,000 on this project and felt I had "nothing to loose." I was already prepared for a complete top end R&R when I was searching the Internet and found numerous products claiming to "fix" head gasket leaks. I almost considered using another product when inquiring further about possible risks of damage to my engine the tech was very rude and just said I was going to have to decide for myself If I wanted to use their product or not! I felt my questions were legitimate and her frustration with my detailed inquiry was unwarranted.

You however, were very willing to answer my concerns and supply me with the information I needed to confidently use your "Head Gasket Fix" product. As instructed, I flushed the cooling system (several times) and a couple more using 3oz.TSP circulated for 15min at operating temperature until all trace of TSP and cooling system additives were removed. I drained enough water to allow for the addition of the "Head Gasket Fix" and started the motor. I allowed the motor to idle for 17min after reaching operating temperature and then turned off. I waited a couple of days and started the motor. I am very happy to report that the compression leak down check verified that all cylinders were within normal range and the exhaust gas in coolant test was now negative. I was so shocked that I took my truck out for some WOT runs and the engine performed flawlessly!

I was a skeptic before using the Bar's Block Seal Permanent Head Gasket Fix, but now, I have a renewed trust in the research and care Bar's invests into their products. No more fear of plugging water jackets or reaction with antifreeze and reducing thermal transfer after using this product! I would tell anyone considering using this product to ask the other company reps if they have a product that is compatible with coolant and has no risk of blocking coolant passages and will not effect thermal transfer, before using anything in there motor. I already know the other products cannot make these claims and are offering a "last ditch effort" to an otherwise junk motor! Those other products may have there place, but not in my motor! I have way too much invested to risk scraping this baby! Thank you again for saving me a ton of work and $!

Sincerely, C. E., Los Angels, CA

1186 - Liquid Aluminum Stop Leak - Top of Page

I drive about 40,000 miles a year selling carpet for Empire. The company is great, but times are still a little tough out there. I have a 2000 Ford Tauras with 234,000 miles on it. (Bought used a few years ago.) I need my car to work and survive. A couple days ago I started getting a big blast of steam from the radiator when I stopped. I cannot afford another repair. Put your Liquid Aluiminum in today with great trepidation. Drove for 25 minutes and stopped. No steam. God bless you. Your product is awesome. I did not sleep at all last night. Now I am relaxed because of you. Thanks!!!

On our way from Phoenix, AZ in April of this year my 1987 Southwind motor home overheated and after having it checked by a mechanic was told the thermostat probably froze shut causing the engine to overheat. Also, he said the radiator and intake manifold were leaking. I asked if he could just add a sealer to the radiator to get me home since it would take a few days to fix the radiator and intake manifold. He said they had a very good commercial sealer he used before with some success. I decided to give it a try. The next day when we left we didn’t make it to Albuquerque, NM before it overheated again. I filled the radiator with water and drove to Albuquerque looking for an auto parts store to try another sealer. I stopped at an O’Reilly store and asked the sales person there if he had any success with the radiator sealers and he recommended your product. I put the sealer in and took off the next morning and drove all day without a problem. In fact we drove 2 more days until we got home without a problem. I was really impressed with your product and would recommend it to anyone who has a leaky radiator. I believe it was far superior to the commercial product we started with. Thanks again for your product.

I had a front cover coolant leak on 20 yr old Ford van. It was in a spot so difficult it took me an hour taking stuff off to get a look at it. 1 can of heavy duty slowed it down quite a bit but didn’t stop it. I figured I had a huge repair on my hands and in desperation added I an additional can of Liquid Aluminum. The leak stopped during the first heat up cycle and has held for a week now. Your product has allowed me to keep my truck on the road as I would not be able to work on it for a few months till the weather got warm. Excellent product, I will recommend it to all.

R. P., Newton, CT

You’re Product Rocks!!!!! Work perfectly on my 1999 Corvette!! I used your product, Liquid Aluminum first before hours of labor trying to find the small slow leak. My leak is GONE!! No more drip on the garage floor. Just wanted to let you know how satisfied I am with your product. Thanks!

M. J., Temple Hills, MD

I used your product, Bar’s Leaks Liquid Aluminum, and was extremely satisfied with it. It not only saved me money, it was easy to use! GREAT PRODUCT!

B. W.

Bar’s Leaks Liquid Aluminum Radiator Stop Leak sealed my head gasket leak with in minutes. I’m so satisfied with this product I tell everyone I know. It would have cost me $300 to fix my car myself. With this product, it cost me less then five dollars. So keep up the good job on making this product and other types of products.

All I can say is FANTASTIC!! Your Power Steering Repair additive is just that. Before adding your additive I could hardly turn the steering wheel...Now it is as if I just paid the several hundred dollars the mechanic wanted to repair my power steering.

With over 30 years experience as a licensed private investigator I rely on hard evidence before giving information in court or to a client and I am at a loss to tell you how very pleased I am with your products.

I have used your radiator stop leak products but had never heard of your power steering repair product. And as far as I know you have never advertised it. I have no idea as to how these miracle additives work but I have the hard evidence that they do. Thanks for your fantastic products... (P. S. - In my business one has to use inconspicuous autos and two that I use are running great with your products.)

C16/R6 - Liquid Radiator Stop Leak - Top of Page

For your product I thank you very much. Me and my girlfriend went out on Valentines Day and we were stuck in traffic and the car started smoking. We pulled off and got the car stopped for a while and went to the nearest station and saw that the radiator was cracked, I went in the store and they had 2 bottles of radiator stop leak left. I purchased both of them (because I have a V-8) and poured both of them in and took off. We drove for 70 miles to the house and it still works great!!! Thanks Bar's Leaks!

B. L. - Loudon, TN

My wife's '97-98, 500 mileage Taurus had a cooling system leak and we were told by local garage it needed a new radiator...I asked the mechanic if Bar's Leak might solve the problem and he said probably not...The repair bill was estimated at $500+ ...I told him not to do the repair.... I put a bottle of your product in cooling system at home. It was still leaking that night....But after a few more times driving the car it seems to have sealed the leak....My local mechanic is a straight up shop owner but I'm glad I tried your product...Will continue to monitor the car but looks like problem is resolved.

B. G. - Walker, MI

I just wanted to tell you a testimony on your product C16. I poured in the bottle last night, and drove for about 30 minutes as the direction suggested, and voila, my radiator was full of water this morning. I was amazed, because I was pouring two gallons of water in the radiator everyday, because people had said that these products clog the heater core.; But, when I searched your site and read FAQ, I was assured your product will pass through the number 24 screen which big three cars have, so I decided to try, and I am very pleased; I bought another bottle just in case I need to add more, but I didn't need to. I will probably use it next year again as you suggested for maintenance.

S. A. - McKinney

I want to comment on your Bar's Leaks Radiator Leak sealant. I had a very small leak on my '02 Silverado, and was adding coolant every week. I was afraid I was going to have to pay a mechanic hundreds of dollars to tear my engine apart in order to find the leak. I read about your product on another web site, so I thought I'd give it a try. So, I topped off my coolant and added your product. One week later, my coolant level is exactly where I topped it off at. Thanks for making a great product, and saving me lots of money.

W.W., Fayetteville, NC

My son's 1995 Escort had a new head installed at 50,000 miles. At 60,000 miles, it started losing coolant into the exhaust, presumably due to the repair not being done properly. I put in one bottle of Bars leaks, which sealed the head completely. We recently sold the car at 112,000 miles, and it still was not losing any coolant. A superior product, which works!

NBS - Sarasota, FL

Outstanding! It did work!!!! I drove to Canada yesterday from home in the USA!!! And I arrived yesterday!!!! Six hours without a drop of antifreeze on the floor! You guys are intelligent!!! the antifreeze! Didn’t leak not even once!!!!! I LOVE BARS LEAKS! PUT ON YOUR TESTOMONALS!!!!!! You could even leave my email! I will stand behind your item forever!!!! BARS LEAKS IS OUTSTANDING! U GUYS MADE AN OUTSTANDING PRODUCT!!!!

M. S.

Thanks!! It appears to have stopped the seepage. I’ve used it for ages for the purpose of using as a water pump lube as preventative maintenance. It has also stopped a tiny leak around the head gasket of my 1974 Nova. Now it looks like my heater core on my Cavalier is fixed. Great Product! –

I have used your products and recommended them too many because of the success I have had with them and your guarantee! I have been twisting wrenches since 1948 and will continue until I die in another 20-25 years. I will continue to use Bar’s Products also! Thank you

Very rarely have I been so thoroughly impressed with a product that I have purchased, that I have felt compelled to write a letter to the company that manufactures the product Bar’s leaks Radiator Stop Leak and Conditioner is one of those extremely rare products. I own a 2004- 40’ Monaco Diplomat Diesel Motor Coach that I travel in with my family from time to time. Recently, we drove a very tight schedule from Houston, TX to St. Louis, MO area to visit an ailing relative. While in the nursing home, a maintenance man came inside to tell me our radiator was leaking in the rear of the Coach. When I went outside I could not believe that anti-freeze was streaming from the radiator like a sieve. Compounding the problem was this was late on Saturday about 40 miles from St. Louis and we needed to be back on the road that night to have the kids back in school and me back at my office for an important meeting.

We contacted AAA who could not get a mechanic to come out until Monday. There was a small mechanic shop in the town we were in but they could not work on something this large. This mechanic suggested that something had flown up inside the shroud from the road and appeared to puncture the radiator in several places. The best case scenario we were facing was to have the Coach towed to St. Louis and rent another vehicle and drive home or purchase very expensive airline tickets for the family of 6. I would also have to leave the Coach and come back for it when the repairs were completed.

A nice gentleman who owned a construction company stopped by and took a look at the problem and suggested I buy your product and see if it would work. We had a relative drive us to O’Reilly’s Auto Parts just before they closed and bought two bottles of the Bar’s Leaks and two gallons of anti-freeze. I had absolutely no hope that this would fix the radiator what so ever, but was hoping it would give us a window to drive it to a Cummins and/or Freightliner dealership and save a huge towing charge.

We followed the instructions on your bottle and let the engine run for about 30 minutes. The leaks did not immediately stop, but did slow down considerably. Amazingly within an hour the leaks stopped COMPLETELY! I decided to load the family in the Coach and drive to St. Louis. If the leaks started again I planned to stop as often as needed, reapply your product and refill the coolant.

In what would seem incredible turn of events to me, and to everyone who saw the magnitude of the leak we drove straight through back to Houston (913 miles!) I stopped every 150 miles for the first 450 miles and physically checked coolant levels. To my shock I did NOT HAVE TO FILL ONE DROP OF COOLANT back in the system the entire return trip!

I dropped the Coach at the Cummins dealership to work on the radiator leak who has just informed me that they have not been able to duplicate the leak whatsoever……. In all the $20 I spent for two bottles of your product and two gallons of antifreeze likely save me $4,000 - $5,000 plus several days!

Again, thank you for making such a fine product. I congratulate you and your team for a job well done!!!

E10L - Engine Oil Stop Leak - Top of Page

I have engine oil stop leak E10L in my engine now and have for approx. 2000 miles. Engine has been leak free for over 30 days, thank you.

R. K. - Prospect Heights, IL

I don't imagine an endorsement of your products will mean much coming from someone you have never heard of, from a town you never heard of, but in any case if I had been aware of your products a year ago it would have saved me a lot of grief and money.

My Kawasaki motorcycle spent most of last summer trying to get it in the shop for oil leaks, twice, last year. This year after the spring and summer rains, we finally got some decent weather but the bike had oil leaks again. Some parts for this bike cannot be found and even some gaskets don't exist. I was not going to go through this again! I could just give it away, take it to the salvage yard or bury it in my back yard! But wait... the auto parts store has Engine Oil Stop Leak.

Incredible! This stuff really works. Two new spark plugs and your Engine Oil Stop Leak and the old motorcycle is back on the road. I was just getting ready to write off the $2500.00 I had invested in the cycle. Thanks Again!

V. M. Geronimo, OK

I just had to write to you guys. I have a 1974 Ford pickup with a 390 cu. The rear seal was leaking a quart of oil every 100 miles, and to change this seal I would have had to pull the motor, so I had nothing to lose to try Bar’s Leaks for engine oil. After 2 trips to town, I have ZERO leaks on that motor. Thanks for making such a good products!

T. C.

I own a 1980 Chevrolet Malibu drag race car. I run a 355 small block Chevy with nitrous. Mildly tuned, the car runs in the high 8’s for a quarter mile. A couple weeks ago I hit the wall at a local track, minor damage. The following week we had a race in Norwalk, OH.

We hadn’t touched the car since the accident since I was soar. When we pulled the car out of the trailer and was warming it up, we noticed that it was leaking oil profusely from the rear main seal and oil pan. People in the pits even noticed we were leaking oil while pushing the vehicle through the pit area! I kept hearing all the Bar’s Leak Advertisements you guys had up at the track, and said to my crew chief, “Let’s try that Engine Stop Leak, its worth a try.”

I read the label, and it says it can take 2-3 days to work, but we were desperate. I spent the $2.55 at the track store and put it in with an oil change. We started the car up and within 5 minutes NO MORE LEAK! It completely sealed up the leak. We could not believe it! THANK YOU FOR SUCH A GREAT PRODUCT!!!! I bought an extra one to throw in my trailer!

I just wanted to send a huge compliment to you guys and gals regarding your oil stop leak product. (The brown stuff in the small bottle). I always knew your radiator and cooling products to be the very best quality and quick to fix cooling system issues, but I never knew your oil products were until now. I am a proud owner of a 1986 Volvo 740 GLE Wagon and this past Saturday it had suddenly developed a severe crankshaft seal leak during one of my delivery runs. Oil loss was approximately 1 quart every 5-10 miles or so. (Like a faucet!)

Well I decided because of your brand reputation to give your oil stop leak a shot until I could get the front seal job done. (Mind you this is a major engine seal) It was under 2 bucks a bottle at Wal-Mart so I put a total of two stop leaks in the engine and the next day it had completely stopped leaking to a minor drip if that! No more visible loss!!!!

I want to commend you on a superior and outstanding product! As with all your Bar’s branded products it has exceeded the reputation and has save me the hassle and is allowing me the time to get what I need to get the problem remedied and saving me 3,000 dollars for a rebuild! I know no genie in a bottle exists, but your products are darn close enough to that Genie!

HDC - Radiator Stop Leak Tablets - Top of Page

I operate two 300 hp boilers for the purpose of melting snow on the plaza area of Aspen Highlands ski area. This fall we discovered several small leaks on the fire tubes of the boilers. The repair cost to have them welded would have broken our budget. Remembering the story of the USS Nautilus, My co-worker brought up the possibility of using Bar's Leak. 2500 tablets later (the preventative maintenance dose) and our boilers are no longer leaking. You have a great product! Thank you!

M. L., Aspen, CO

On behalf of the congregation at Fort Valley First Baptist Church, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to your company for providing the stop leak for our boiler system for the last three years. Our system is approximately fifty years old, and with the additive, we are able to safely use it each year. Your cooperation and generosity are much appreciated!

You people are geniuses! Over the years, I have used your various products with 100% success! I had a floor jack that "died" and was going to put it out for the trash. BUT, I saw your floor jack "fix it in a bottle" and tried it. Still batting 100% since I am in my mid fifties, do you have anything that stops memory leaks?

PLT11 - Pelletized Radiator Stop Leak - Top of Page

The heater core in my GMC truck was leaking steam from a tiny crack. Required removal of entire dashboard to repair -- either a $600 job at a shop or two days laying on my back in the truck trying to do it myself. Tried Alumaseal, it didn't work. With little hope left, I bought an 11 oz bottle of Bars Heavy Duty Stop Leak, poured it in, and started driving the truck around on errands. About 45 minutes later, the steam coming out of my heater vents suddenly stopped and the smell of anti-freeze vanished. The leak was fixed and has stayed that way since. Thanks for saving me $600, Bars!

S. T. - L.A., Ca

I used the PLT11, Heavy Duty Radiator Stop Leak. I own a 1991 nissan maxima with 95,000 miles on it and for the past few months it started to leak coolant.I think it was in the water pump seal area or even the heater core, anyway I added the radiator formula and not only did it stop the leak, the heater works like it did when new. Thanks.

G. G. - Easton, Pa

Over six months ago our 1995 Chevy Lumina (70k miles) started leaking from the radiator. I put in Bar's pellets and no more leak. I also started using Bar's Rear Main Seal leak stopper at every oil change in my 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix (200k miles)and it has drastically decreased my oil leak. Here is the one that blows me away though. That same Grand Prix developed a bad radiator leak about 3 wks. ago. I put Bar's pellets in and the leak stopped. For a few days that is. The leak came back again and then stopped again. This proceeded for about three weeks. But my car never ran hot. Finally, I replaced the radiator this past weekend and to my surprise there was a 3inch crack in the plastic tank on the drivers side of the radiator. The crack had even started to spread apart. It was very easy to locate once the radiator was out of the car. I was amazed that the Bar's product kept filling in the crack and allowing me to continue driving. I am telling everyone about it. This product is amazing.

J. G. - Louisville, Ky

Your testimonial page is no joke! I have always been leery about adding anything at all to the coolant systems in my cars over the years. But this time, facing a major repair bill, I decided I have nothing to lose other than about five dollars. I drive a 1996 Monte Carlo 3.1 V6 (which by the way has been notorious for having lower intake manifold leaks) the low coolant light came on a few weeks ago. In a matter of a few miles after that, I was burning coolant in my exhaust and it was leaking out of the intake, spraying onto my serpentine belt and basically making a mess in the engine compartment. I talked to a few of the guys I work with (old-timers) and they recommended using Bars Leak. I was definitely hesitant, but trusted their judgment. The next day I bought the pellets, used it accordingly, and in amazement, I have driven about 5,000 miles since, with no leaks, no squealing, and no mess. The engine runs smooth, quiet, no smells and best of all, doesn’t over-heat! While I\'m sure your product won't fix everything, it definitely fixes those nuisance problems. It saved me almost $700 in repairs, and for that, I thank you very much.

C. H. Catasauqua, PA

Bar's Products: I own a 1999 Chevy Suburban and a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville. Both cars are daily drivers and have used your fine products now for five years. Bars pellets stop leak is without a doubt the finest product on the market. It simply yet elegantly works and does what you all promise. Both cars had leaks and one treatment with your Bar's stopped all leaks within twenty four hours, outstanding performance and value and overall a very solid product. Well done and many thanks and my personal wishes for a safe and happy new year! Kindest Regards,

Roy R., San Antonio, TX

I told you I would tell you my Bars leaks story someday. Here it is I drove a 1994 Chrysler Concord for 8 years it had 285,000 miles on it when I sold it. I drive 100 miles round trip to work everyday. One winter morning I left for work and noticed the temp gauge getting hot so I figured it had frozen up. So I stopped and let it sit for 15 – 20 minutes and then resumed my trip to work. It started getting hot again but I figured I could make it which I did. I checked the coolant level at lunch and it was low so I went and got some and filled it up. I drove home and everything seemed fine until the next morning when I had the same problem.

The car had about 220,000 miles at this point and I knew I did not want to put money into any major repair, so I checked the internet to see if I could find any info or reviews about Bar’s Leaks. I remember a mechanic buddy once telling me it was one of the few automotive chemicals on the market that worked. I found nothing but positive stuff on the net so I tried it and it stopped the leak for 2 years.

I had to put a bottle of the heavy duty stop leak in every 6 months for 2 years and then the leak got real bad. So as a last resort effort I did the flush, rinse head gasket repair and then the heavy duty stop leak and drove it for another year and a half before selling it. I never determined if it was a bad head gasket or a cracked head but the leak was on the right head at the rear of the engine. So for about $25.00 - $30.00 I drove the car for 65,000 miles.

I know the product works and tell everyone I can about it. The guys here at work razzed me about it but a lot of them have used since I started raving about it. I have been telling everyone who asks or tells me they are having a coolant leak problem to try Bar’s Leaks as it has worked for me.

B. B., Michigan

I wanted to tell you my experience with your product. On Aug 11 we hit a Deer just out of Crookston, Minnesota. The hood was pushed in and the radiator was bent around the engine mount of my 99 Accord. We managed to nurse the car back to Crookston leaking almost all of the coolant as we went. We found a small auto parts store where the gentleman there listened to our tale and walked us straight to your product and said if "If this doesn't work it can't be fixed" We poured it into the radiator and added a container of coolant and crossed our fingers.

Ten minutes later we were on the road for the three hundred and fifty kilometer ride home and did not have to add a drop of fluid. In total there was over five thousand dollars in damage and the radiator is being replaced but thanks to your product it saved us a large towing bill and a lot of stress and headache. I just thought you might want to hear one of your products success stories. Thank you very much –

We were recently Super Stock racing in an IHRA Points meet at Martin, MI when we discovered we had a water leak in the cylinder head. Two very nice racers that are sponsored by Bar’s Leaks recommended that we try Stop Leak. They gave us a bottle to try, it stopped the leak and we went on to continue racing. We tried to pay them for the product and for their help, but they wouldn't accept anything. We appreciate your product and the people you sponsor! Thanks again
